Hello Everyone!
It's been awhile since I've posted but I feel like you all are up-to-date.
I wanted to dedicate this post to emphasizing "Kookies for a Kause".
It makes my heart happy to see everyone's participation in the decoration of the store. Everything looks great! (Even the little boy cut-outs that look like Stewie's nemesis from Family Guy)
We are about halfway through the month and a little behind on goal. Of course I would love to hit goal but the most important thing is that we fund-raise as much as we can for School On Wheels.
If we hit 16k that will be $3200 or 128 backpacks or an insane amount of pencils, pens, notebook, etc...
Today, I had my first full tutoring session with my student. She's a very bright 8-year-old who loves to read, doesn't really like math, and would rather tell you all about what she read instead of write it out.
At the end of our session I asked her what her favorite animal was. She said she loves cats and I asked if she also likes tigers. Her eyes lit up and she ran to her room. Right before she opened the door she gave me a disclaimer, "Just to let you know my tiger was real when I got him but now he turned fake." She then brought out a plush tiger about the size of a real-life baby tiger and showed him off as if he were an actual living pet. She had a real/fake Hobbes! Anyway, this definitely reminded me of Jordan but it also reminded me of what it was to be that age and believe anything was possible. I cannot imagine what this girl has been through already and she's a third of my age. I'm very excited to see her progress through the school year and I am determined to get her to divide with ease before my time with her is up.
Hopefully, my experience can help all of you believe we are doing a great thing as a company. I know it's not the busiest month of the year but we could make it one of the most important by pushing Kookies for a Kause and educating all of customers about our kause.
