Photo from this past Monday's Night Mission. Pretty much everyone from the bakery and myself will be going to MNM on July 29th if anyone wants to join. We will eat somewhere in LA around 6pm if you want to just join us for a dinner. It would be a good opportunity for you to hang with your Bakery counterparts. Also, it would be an excellent semi-early bday present to me if you would all join us. Anyway, think about it and let me know!

Volunteer Opportunity
Hi Everyone!
As some of you know, last Monday I attended something called "Monday Night Mission".
A group of people get together every Monday (and Tue-Fri) to make and personally serve lunches to the homeless on skid row. It was an excellent experience and I encourage all of you to do it at least once in your lifetime.
To give you a quick rundown of the logistics.... we gathered at a Burger King down the street at 7p, prepared the lunches outside (BK was completely okay with this), caravan-ed to skid row, passed out over 400 meals, drove back, wrapped up with a quick talk, and done by 9:30p.
It was amazing to see how many people were lined up to receive their simple meal of a plain hotdog, water bottle, and cookie.
I'm sure you have all participated in community outreach through other avenues in your life (school, church, etc...) but there isn't quite anything like volunteering just because you want to.
Keep in mind this is skid row we're talking about so a lot of things can happen... nothing has happened before in the history of the program but I do have to warn you that by agreeing to be there you are consenting to whatever the night may bring. I had an eventful experience with people setting off fireworks in the streets and a female mouthing off to one of our guides. Nothing too crazy.
Anyway, I am going again next Monday, July 15th. Below is the link to their Facebook page so you can see what they're all about. If you are interested in going I can pick you up from wherever you are after I go to KK1 in the morning. LET ME KNOW! Remember... Monday, July 15th approximately 630-10p (including drive time).
